R8 -  TRAIL DIFFICULT
Start: Biescas

This trail takes you through Sobremonte and the old Escuer village. The route starts with a climb up through the Arás ravine until you reach the little village of Yosa. From here you take a track through a beech grove. This track leads onto to a fun downhill path bringing you to the castle after which the route is named. Much of the route takes woodland paths, through beech groves, pine forest and oak woods. The trail brings you through the villages, Arguisal and Escuer.

When you leave Escuer, take special care as you will have to cross the N-260 road in order to return to Biescas by the right bank of the River Gallego.
